Vintage WADE pottery porcelain Irish Red Setter in Basket Figurine Pin Dish.
The concept of whimtrays or pin dishes was devised by Sir George Wade to repurpose unsold whimsies by affixing them onto pin trays, dishes, or candle holders.
This charming little dish showcases the Red Setter puppy from the "Dogs and Puppies Set 3 - Red Setter" series of WHIMSIES porcelain miniatures, which were produced from 1973 to 1982. The design features a red and brown Irish Setter pup reclining in a round woven basket. It has a glossy finish. The underside of the pin dish bears the impressed WADE trademark for identification.
