Antique Britannia Silver Plated 1920s Mustard Pot Tableware James Dixon England.

$122.00

Featuring a rare and collectible antique 1920s (although the trumpet and banner symbol was registered by the company in 1879 ), EPBM/silver-plated alloy mustard condiment pot with a cobalt blue glass insert liner by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, England. Rich in history, this rare piece of tableware showcases a Victorian antique design and is made of electroplated Britannia metal, a pewter alloy commonly used in the early 19th century. It features three decorative ‘claw’ feet, an ornate handle, a hinged lid, and a Bristol cobalt blue glass liner.
This beautiful piece of high tea tableware can serve multiple purposes: it can be used as a mustard pot, a charming sugar pot, or to present your favourite condiments. The glass liner is removable for easy cleaning, and the lid features a slot for a small teaspoon. You can find the trademark identification, along with an impressed hallmark, on the underside of the pot.

Measurements approximately:
W x 9cm, at the widest points and including the handle.
H x 7.5 cm, at the highest point.

Condition:
As the item is well over 100 years old, and to be expected, there is general usage wear consisting of a small amount of tarnishing and ‘scuffs/buffs’. These are insignificant and are mentioned only for accuracy. There are no repairs or dents. The hinge works well, and all 3 feet, as well as the handle, are firmly attached. The glass liner is free from chips and repairs and sits well in the pot.
Polishes up beautifully!

Item has been well researched for accuracy.
Price is $122.
