Rare collectible vintage ceramic figurines of an adorable mother elephant and her baby calf.
Beautifully detailed, these items have been hand-painted with colourful dark greys, olive greens, pinks, and blues, and have a gloss finish. The trunks are upward-pointing to signify good fortune, and both have lovely, detailed, fine features. They make adorable mid-century home decor and lovely gifts for avid travellers, elephant lovers and those who appreciate collectible vintage Japanese ceramics.
Makers: ELVINS -Japan.
Circa: 1952(+), although possibly 1970s.

Mother elephant measures approximately:
L x 10.5 cm
W x 6 cm at the widest points
H x 6.7 cm.
Calf elephant measures approximately:
L x 8 cm
W x 4 cm at the widest points
H x 6 cm.
Condition:
A few insignificant manufacturing glazes, rough spots and some crazing on the mother’s underside of her trunk.
Both are in excellent condition and appear to have no chips, cracks or repairs.
