This stunning vintage 1988 porcelain plate showcases the artwork of Russian artist Gleb Lubimov, inspired by the classic folklore fairy tale “Ruslan and Ludmilla,” based on a poem by Alexander Pushkin. The piece illustrates the heroic Knight Ruslan as he rescues the Duke of Kiev’s daughter, Ludmilla, from the evil witch Baba Yaga.
This rare collector's plate is the first in a series of limited-edition porcelain plates by Tianex Bradex produced in Russia. It is crafted using a tradition of miniature painting on lacquer, undergoing 195 days of firing. The plate is beautifully vibrant and rich in colour, featuring gold leaf trim and intricate detailing that highlights this artistic masterpiece. The underside of the plate includes authenticity details, such as the plate number and the year of production. It also features pre-fired holes for easy wall hanging.
